Summary

Optional chapter, gated by the routing choices made in Chapters 20, 26, and 27. The phone rings on the rooftop during the Chapter 28 prep; Stacy answers, and the voice on the other end is the friend whose ending the dialogue tree has been pruning away. The mechanical surface is tiny — listen to the voice memo, then pick one of two dialogue responses — but the framing is among the heaviest in the game: it's the moment where Stacy formally chooses or refuses the alternate ending route in dialogue rather than in cumulative branch-weighting. Neither dialogue option locks a different Finale; both resolve into Chapter 30. For the True Ending specifically, this chapter is bypassed entirely — when the routing arrives at the rooftop with nobody unchosen, the phone doesn't ring. About 3-4 minutes when it triggers.
