Mixtape Guide (mixtapegame.org) is an independent, unofficial fan project. To help cover our hosting, domain, and content production costs, we participate in several affiliate programs. This page discloses those relationships in line with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Endorsement Guides and equivalent advertising-disclosure standards in the EU, UK, Canada, Australia, and Japan.

What "affiliate" means here

When you click certain links on this site and then make a qualifying purchase (vinyl record, streaming subscription, game purchase, etc.), we may receive a small commission from the merchant. The price you pay is the same whether you click an affiliate link or visit the merchant directly — the commission is paid out of the merchant's marketing budget, not added to your bill.

Programs we participate in

• Amazon Associates — used for physical vinyl / CD / book recommendations across our soundtrack and culture-reference articles. "As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases."
• Spotify (via the Impact affiliate network) — used in soundtrack-related articles where we suggest Spotify Premium for the OST listening experience.
• Microsoft Affiliate Program (via CJ Affiliate) — used when we link to Xbox Game Pass or Microsoft Store listings for the game.
• Steam — direct store links currently. If we reach the 100-follower threshold for the Steam Curator program, we will update this list. Steam Curator does NOT pay per sale; it offers visibility only.

How we mark affiliate links

Pages that contain affiliate links include a clear notice near the top of the article (typically "This page contains affiliate links"). Individual affiliate links may also be marked with rel="sponsored" per Google's link-attribute guidance. We never use affiliate links inside critical walkthrough / guide content where the link is not relevant to the content (only inside dedicated "buying guide" / "where to get the OST" posts).

Editorial independence

We choose what to recommend based on our own honest assessment of the product. No merchant has paid for placement, and we do not accept paid product reviews. If a recommendation later proves wrong, we revise the article rather than keeping the link for revenue.
