Chapter 13

Cassandra's House

Minimaster assembly. Drape match.

Summary

A long-form bedroom chapter, the Cassandra counterpart to the earlier Rockford and Debbie rooms. Cassandra's space is dense with character — Tori Amos posters, drama-club photos, a Daria sketch — and exploring it runs alongside a conversation about her own plans to escape, namely college. Roxy Music's 'More Than This,' narrator-confirmed as Cassandra's favorite song, plays during the exploration and is one of the chapter's most-quoted moments, so it is worth pausing to listen the first time through. Two achievements are in play. Instructions Not Required is a timed puzzle: complete the minimaster repair sequence — flip it open, open the battery cover, insert two batteries, close the cover, flip it shut, switch it on — in under fifteen seconds. The trick is that the device's animation does not count against the timer, so run the sequence once to learn it before you try to beat the clock. Matching The Drapes is the easy one — it auto-unlocks when the drape-pattern visual completes at the chapter's end.

Key Story Beats

  2. Conversation about her own escape plans (college).
  3. Minimaster repair puzzle: flip → battery cover → 2 batteries → cover → flip → On.
  4. Drape-pattern visual completes; Matching The Drapes pops on chapter end.
