Chapter 12

Skipping Stones

A throw at the tire swing.

Summary

Lakeside chapter, immediately following the Chapter 11 skate. Stacy and Cassandra — just reunited after the cone-slalom — sit by a small lake and skip stones while talking through the leaving-vs-staying tension that frames the whole night. The mechanic is a charge-throw using RT/R2 for power and the right stick for angle; there's no skill check on the basic stone-skip, just 3-4 throws of flavor. The catch is a tire swing hanging on the right side of the lake — landing a single stone through the tire unlocks Skim Gordon (a nod to Sonic Youth bassist Kim Gordon), one of the most-named missable achievements because the tire is easy to miss entirely on a first run. The trick is to aim slightly above the tire to compensate for gravity drop and hold RT/R2 to full charge. Failed throws don't void the achievement — the chapter only ends after Cassandra triggers exit dialogue, so you can attempt the swing freely. Resolves into Cassandra's House (Chapter 13).

Key Story Beats

  1. Lakeside arrival. Cassandra + Stacy dialogue about leaving / staying.
  2. Stone-skipping minigame: 3-4 throws, no skill check.
  3. Tire-swing target on right side: 1 hit unlocks Skim Gordon.
  4. Chapter resolves into Cassandra's House (Ch 13).

Achievements in this chapter

  • Skim Gordon

There is a tire swing on the right side of the lake in Chapter 12 (Skipping Stones). Aim up at the top-middle of the tire and hold RT/R2 to charge a full-power throw. Name is a Sonic Youth nod (Kim Gordon).

Tips & Hidden

  • Skim Gordon: aim slightly above the tire (gravity pulls down). Hold RT/R2 to full charge.
  • You can attempt the tire swing freely — failed throws don't void the achievement; chapter only ends after triggering exit dialogue.
