Chapter 5
Shopping Cart Bomb
Don't crash. Whatever you do, don't crash.
Summary
The first chapter that genuinely tests your hands. A confrontation at the convenience store — set up by a pointed exchange with the store clerk that establishes the night's streak of rebellion — sends Stacy and Slater careening downhill in a stolen shopping cart. Steering activates the moment the cart launches, and Mondo Rock's 'State of the Heart' drives the chase. The difficulty curve is built from a handful of staged hazards: two near-miss vehicle moments and a barricade. The achievement to watch is Smooth Shopper, which demands a completely clean run with ZERO crashes. The crucial, narrator-confirmed distinction is what counts as a crash — clipping cardboard boxes and cones is fine and will not void it, but striking cars or walls does. So treat the soft props as ignorable and reserve all your attention for the two vehicles and the barricade. The run resolves into the photo-run chapter that follows.
Key Story Beats
- Pre-escape dialogue with the store clerk — sets up "rebellion" tone.
- Cart launches downhill. Steering controls activate.
- Two near-miss vehicle moments and one barricade set the difficulty curve.
- Cart resolves into the photo-run setup chapter.

Achievements in this chapter
Smooth Shopper
In Chapter 5 (Shopping Cart Bomb), avoid hitting walls and cars. Hitting cardboard boxes or traffic cones does NOT void the achievement.
Tips & Hidden
- For Smooth Shopper: stay center-of-road. The narrow alleys near start are forgiving on boxes — drift wide there to set up clean wide-road later.
- If you crash, restart via Chapter Select immediately. The replay starts back from the cart entry, not the chapter start.
