Mixtape Guide

Chapter 3

The Kiss

60 seconds that changes everything.

Summary

The most-quoted chapter in Mixtape's critical reception, and the clearest example of the game using its controls as storytelling. Cassandra appears in the doorway, a short conversation locks in, and then control switches to a dual-stick scheme where each analog stick navigates a tongue. It is deliberately, knowingly ridiculous — and that is the design point: the awkwardness of a first kiss gets externalized into the input layer itself, so the player feels the clumsiness rather than just watching it. A 'That's Enough' prompt appears almost immediately, but the French Connection achievement asks you to wait a full 60 seconds before resolving the scene, turning a throwaway 30-second moment into something the game treats as definitive. The trick is that you do not have to actively move — the timer counts during any state, so you can simply sit there for the minute. The instant French Connection unlocks, pick 'That's Enough'; holding past 60 seconds adds nothing.

Key Story Beats

  1. Cassandra appears in the doorway. Conversation locks in.
  2. Control switches to dual-stick tongue navigation.
  3. A "That's Enough" prompt appears immediately — but the achievement requires waiting 60s.
  4. After the 60s, the prompt resolves the chapter naturally.

Achievements in this chapter

  • French Connection

In Chapter 3 (The Kiss), sit in the scene for at least 60 seconds with the tongues on screen. You do NOT need to move them around. When you select "That's Enough" the achievement pops on transition.

Tips & Hidden

  • For French Connection: just sit there 60 seconds. You do NOT need to actively move — the timer counts during any state.
  • After French Connection unlocks, immediately select "That's Enough" — extra time provides nothing.
