Chapter 23

The Run

Rescue Cassandra. Zero missed jumps.

Summary

The hardest skill-gate chapter in the game, and a frequent stopping point for completionists. Coming straight out of the Ritz, Cassandra needs rescuing, and the chapter becomes a linear chase route packed with jump-and-slide obstacles — RT/R2 to slide, A/X to jump. Stan Bush's 'Dare' drives it ('You've got the touch / you've got the dare'), the sister song to the Stan Bush anthem used back in Chapter 14's softball gate. The achievement, Well, Take a Look at That, demands a flawless run: ZERO missed jumps or slides across the entire sequence, which is why it is so consistently called out as an 'annoying missable.' The key to clearing it is anticipation rather than reaction — the visual cue for each obstacle appears two to three seconds early, so commit to the input on the cue instead of waiting until you are on top of the hazard. If you break the streak, restart cleanly via Chapter Select and run it again; the obstacle layout is fixed, so it rewards memorization. The chapter ends at the rescue point.
